Pastor Shari Ayers serves as Trinity’s Director for Vocation and Enrollment. She’s a 1996 M.Div. graduate who served two congregations in Northeastern Ohio before returning to Trinity in 2006. Before attending Trinity, Shari graduated from the Ohio State University where she managed to find an excuse to take five quarters of Greek, change her major five times, and still graduate in four years. An unrepentant perennial student, she recently added a degree in Management to her “hobbies.” Shari has a particular interest in research, strategic planning, worship, and walking with others as they look for a landing place for their diverse gifts and mischievous callings. Shari is a certified Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® practitioner and a frequent retreat leader and supply preacher. If her days were less crazy, she’d spend more time cooking, reading, and organizing. She keeps threatening to take up the guitar but has so far spared the community this sorrow.
In Laura Book’s office rests a beautiful walking stick. The walking stick represents the journey she has travelled through seminary, and now she continues to walk with others on their discernment paths through ministry, service, and seminary. Her journey began at St. Olaf College where she graduated with a degree in sociology. Later she attended Trinity Lutheran Seminary and earned her Master of Theological Studies in 2007. Laura is rostered in the ELCA as an Associate in Ministry and works with both high school students and young adults through Trinity’s Summer Seminary Sampler program and through young adult retreats hosted here at Trinity and throughout Region 6.
Pastor Teddy Ceasar ('09) is a native of Columbus, Ohio, has a passion for the development of church leaders, and looks forward to serving both the church and the academy through his work in the Admissions office. He returns to TLS after serving for three years on the pastoral staff at the First Church of God on Refugee Road. Before heading to Trinity, Teddy earned his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Cincinnati. He combines his passion for youth and sports by coaching high school football in the Columbus Public Schools district. He also scores touchdowns for Trinity’s flag football team.
